Do I need insurance for this appointment?

No. We do not submit claims to insurance companies. As a result, the $99 fee that we charge covers the online telehealth consultation only. The cost includes the physician's evaluation, including a review of your medical history and answering any questions you may have regarding any treatment. If you require treatment, such as antibiotics, the physician will send your electronic prescription to the pharmacy of your choice. If you require laboratory evaluations, the physician will send an order to a lab that is near you.

What if I have insurance? Is this visit covered?

Some insurance companies may reimburse you for the cost of the online telehealth visit that we provide. This would require that you submit specific information directly to your insurance company. If you intend to seek reimbursement, please notify the doctor during your online visit.

Once your prescription arrives at the pharmacy, you may be able to use your insurance plan to cover the cost of medications such as antibiotics, blood pressure medications, or other commonly prescribed drugs. The amount you are responsible for will depend may factors, such as insurance-specific policies, co-payments, cost-shares, deductibles, and other considerations that depend on your insurance company.

What methods of payment do you accept?

Black Tie Health™ has partnered with Square to ensure the security of our online payment process. As a result, you can pay using Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, Apple Pay,  Google Pay, Afterpay, and even Cash App!

Should I still make an appointment to see my doctor?

Although thorough in-person examinations are not required for general medical treatment, we recommend that all patients follow-up with their primary care physician as soon as possible, typically within 2-3 days.

What kind of device is required for a telehealth appointment?

Our telehealth interface supports most devices commonly used today. You can connect to our telehealth platform using an iPhone, Android device, iPad, Mac, or PC. Our platform doesn't require you to download another app, special software, or any unnecessary hoops to jump through. As long as you have access to a computer or smart device with email or text messages, we are just one click away.
