About the Role
As a medical assistant, you are the backbone of medical care. You are the liaison between patients and the physician. The most important value you provide to our office is streamlining the treatment process and maintaining efficiency. You set the pace and the rhythm for the office and motivate everyone else to keep up.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Escorting and preparing patients for exams and treatments.
Documenting patient intake.
Taking and documenting vital signs.
Assisting the physician with medical procedures.
Drawing blood for laboratory evaluation.
Preparing laboratory specimens.
Front office duties, as needed (answer phones, schedule appointments).
Other duties, as necessary.
Requirements
Required education:
High school or equivalent.
BLS Certification required within 90 days of employment.
Medical Assistant Certification (Preferred); or
Phlebotomy Certification; or
EMT-B
Current or former nursing students are encouraged to apply.
Required experience:
None, but must be a quick learner and possess the ability to learn independently.
Must be able to take manual vital signs when necessary.
Ability to perform IM injections a plus.
Other requirements:
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, family members, and staff.
Demonstrates competency and skills to serve all patients with compassion.
